Political affairs delegation visits Churches in Homs Governorate
SANA NEWS -

Homs, SANA–A delegation from the Directorate of Political Affairs in Homs Governorate, led by Director Obeida al-Arnaout, visited several churches in the city and surrounding countryside to offer condolences following the terrorist bombing that targeted St. Elias Church in Dweilaa neighborhood of Damascus.

The visits included the Syriac Orthodox Church of Um al-Zennar, where the delegation met with Bishop Mar Timotheos Matta al-Khoury—head of the Archdiocese of Homs, Hama, and Tartous—and members of the church council.

The delegation emphasized that Syrian blood is one and indivisible by sect, ethnicity, or nationality, and that the true target of this tragedy was Syria’s cohesive social fabric, rich in diversity and culture. They also underscored the historic national role of the Christian community in Syria.

The delegation also visits several churches in the al-Hamidiyah, Fairouzeh, Zaidal, and Wadi al-Nasara neighborhoods, where clerics emphasized that the targeting of churches undermines the unity of Syrian society and that preserving civil peace is a collective responsibility.

At the conclusion of the visits, Mr. Al-Arnaout stressed the importance of community dialogue, strengthening national cohesion, and upholding the principles of law and equality.
