Syrian Grain Establishment Center in Sweida begins receiving wheat from farmers
SANA NEWS -

Sweida, SANA-The Syrian Grain Establishment Center in Sweida Governorate has announced that it has begun receiving the wheat crop from farmers at the Umm Al-Zaytoon mill.

Eng. Naseeb Nassif, the center’s director, told SANA reporter that “dogma” wheat (referring to bulk, unpackaged wheat) will be received daily from 8 AM to 4 PM. Farmers are required to present certificates of origin approved by the Farmers Union and the Directorate of Agriculture.

In a related statement, Samer al-Saadi, head of the Sweida Farmers Union, indicated that estimates suggest a production of approximately 1,500 tons of irrigated wheat alone, particularly in the town of Al-Tha’la and the villages of Al-Dara, Al-Asleha, and Al-Door. This follows the completion of harvests for all rain-fed cultivated areas.

Al-Saadi added that the Farmers Union will assign a representative to facilitate wheat reception at the Umm Al-Zaytoon mill and to oversee payment disbursement in coordination with the relevant bodies.
