Damascus, SANA-Syrian Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Amjad Badr, discussed Wednesday with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Sudanese Embassy in Damascus, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Hassan, mechanisms for activating agricultural cooperation agreements between the two countries in the fields of seed multiplication, plant protection, agricultural quarantine, forests, pastures, and investment.
During the meeting, the two sides affirmed the importance of boosting bilateral relations by updating existing agreements to keep pace with developments and contribute to supporting the agricultural sector.
Minister Badr explained that the Syrian government is in the process of amending the investment law to create a more favorable investment environment and provide attractive facilities and exemptions for investors in the agricultural sector.
For his part, Dr. Hassan stressed Sudan’s readiness to expand agricultural cooperation with Syria, based on the deep relations between the two countries, to achieve their common interests at the economic and development levels.
