Kuwait, SANA – Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya has stated that the Gulf nations are collaborating to assist Syria and are backing all initiatives focused on stabilizing the nation’s political and economic landscape.
In a press conference held on Monday with GCC Secretary General Jassim Al-Budaiwi at the conclusion of the 164th Ministerial Council session in Kuwait, Al-Yahya emphasized that the Council has reiterated its commitment to the positive advancements in Syria that are aimed at improving the security and stability necessary to achieve the goals of the Syrian populace.
Al-Yahya added that the Council commended the outcomes of President Ahmad al-Sharaa’s tour to Kuwait and his discussions with the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, and confirmed that the Gulf countries are united in their mission to aid Syria.
The foreign minister of Kuwait also mentioned that the Syrian embassy in Kuwait is to be inaugurated soon.
Yesterday, President Al-Sharaa conducted his inaugural official visit to the State of Kuwait, where he conferred with His Highness the Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, while foreign minister Asaad Al-Shibani met first deputy prime minister and minister of interior Sheikh Fahd Yousef Saud Al-Sabah and foreign minister Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya and discussed strategies for bolstering mutual collaboration and coordination.
