Over 80,000 evacuate due to severe flooding in south-west China

Beijing, SANA-Chinese authorities have evacuated more than 80,000 people as a result of severe flooding in Guizhou Province in southwest China.
According to China’s Xinhua News Agency, 48,900 people were evacuated in Rongjiang City and 32,000 in Congjiang City. The emergency response level for flood control has been raised to the highest level.
Rongjiang experienced intense rainstorms, with water levels at one point on the Duliu River exceeding the warning threshold by 6.68 meters. Floodwaters rose to a height of three meters, submerging the Tsun Chao football stadium. Landslides also caused the collapse of part of a highway bridge in Sandu City.
